Info COVID-19 Coronavirus

The safety and well-being of our guests, staff and animals is our priority and we will be taking all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare. Like many other institutions, we are closely monitoring the situation regarding the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and are following the guidelines from the Swedish Public Health Agency and Region Västra Götaland. Based on the current advice from the health authorities, our business can operate as normal and standard conditions for visiting the Zoo continue to apply.

We want to assure you that we are working proactively to reduce the risk of infection during your visit to Borås Zoo, and reviewing infection control practices and cleaning procedures throughout the entire site. We assure you that we will continue to respond quickly where we have a duty to do so and take all necessary measures to protect the health and safety of our guests, staff and animals.

We ask all our guests to respect and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene when visiting Borås Zoo. There are some simple things you can do to prevent the spread of the virus.

  • Avoid touching your face and eyes and avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and hot water, especially after going to the toilet and before eating and drinking. A hand sanitiser can be used as an extra precaution.
  • Always cough or sneeze into your elbow or a paper tissue to prevent the virus from spreading to others and to avoid contaminating your hands.
  • Stay at home if you are feeling unwell to avoid passing the infection on to anyone else.
  • Be safe and keep distance from other guests. At least a cheetah distance, about 1.5-2 meters.

For further information, read and follow the instructions provided by the Swedish Public Health Agency and your regional disease control and surveillance unit.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
